My parents would switch our names around (4 of us). Presents would be passed out and we would apraise our pile and then be told “you move to his pile, you to hers and. . . ” And they changed it every year and we could never figure it out.

This would be a great thing to do for my Mom! She is a gift peaker! My late grandma was, too. They would open a corner of their gifts when no one was around and see what was in them. I wrap stuff in boxes that don’t match with what the gift is, so when Mom opens the corner, she might think she is getting a pair of shoes when it’s really something else. Today, one of my mom’s friends sent her a gift that said, “Do not open till 9-2-08!” That’s my mom’s birthday and Mom told me today, “How in the world can I keep from opening it?” She said she better hide it, but then she will probably forget where she put it. I bet you $1,000 that before midnight tonight, Mom will have that gift open!!

That’s a great idea. I use a different wrapping paper for each child. I do tag any gift for the adults but all of my grandkids are without tags. Since I only have 4 grandkids it is easy to remember which wrapping paper I use for each child.
